We operate in a highly competitive labor market. The people we need to keep developing the innovative products our customers want are very well educated, extremely talented and, not surprisingly, in great demand across the world. That’s good because it means that we understand that we have to make ASM the world’s most attractive place to build a career.
We do this by providing very competitive and attractive employment conditions. Personal performance is also a factor and when you perform well above expectations, you can earn rewards substantially above average market pay.
Global and local packages
While we fine-tune our compensation and benefits packages to match local market conditions, our approach is similar across the world. We set our pay and benefits in line with the rates in the semiconductor industry. As a general guide, you can expect the following compensation and benefit elements.
We set salary scales for each job level in every country where we operate. These scales are benchmarked against local market rates. Depending on the level of the job you're in, you'll be linked to a salary scale. This defines your pay level as well as the opportunity you have to increase your remuneration.
Depending on the local practice of the country you work in, we pay additional allowances such as holiday allowance or a 13th month payment on top of your monthly or fortnightly salary payments.
We offer variable pay linked to you meeting set agreed objectives. If you exceed your objectives you can receive an above-target payment. This is all part of our 'pay for performance' culture.
In addition to your cash compensation, we also offer a comprehensive benefits package. Depending on the local market practice, we may offer you:
- a pension plan (401k plan);
- a healthcare benefit plan including, for example, dental care;
- vacation and holiday pay as well as paid time off;
- short-term and long-term disability coverage.
We offer a great relocation package to support you and your family, if applicable, to move closer to our offices.
