New College Graduate Program Europe (R&D)
Our intensive graduate program puts you on a fast career track with a leading supplier of semiconductor process equipment for wafer processing. Our goal is to cultivate and nurture the next wave of technical experts, project managers or leaders of ASM.

Requirements
- PhD degree in physics, physical chemistry, chemistry, materials science or engineering

As part of our ALD Process Development team, you will be involved with developing new ALD processes and applications in state-of-art integrated device flows. - Works with semiconductor processing equipment to research, develop and optimize processes focused on ALD thin film deposition.
- Develops new thin film processes and applications of in the areas of logic, memory, analog, power and MEMS.

Requirements

- Experience with processing, developing and characterizing thin films.
- Understanding of physics of semiconductor devices.
- Experience with materials characterization techniques such as XPS, SIMS, RBS, AFM, XRR, XRD, TEM, SEM, electrical characterization and ellipsometry.

Key Responsibilities
- Perform engineering calculations, including closed form and finite element analysis, for thermal, mechanical, tolerance and fluid dynamics problems
- Create and revise Pro/ENGINEER CAD models and detail drawings, ranging in complexity from simple piece parts large assemblies.
- Determine feasibility of product proposals, resolve problems based on technical inputs and develop new designs based on the same, maintaining product design safety criteria.
- Prepare product/system designs and related engineering documentation for the manufacturing and testing of prototype and production released products. The documentation shall be complete and easy to follow.

- Integrate lower level assemblies to obtain a desired system level configuration.
- Adapt digital and analog I/O requirements to achieve customer specific configurations.
- Provide technical support for capital orders, expense projects, retrofits and development projects.
- Provide engineering cost estimates to marketing for non-standard options, new system features and product enhancements. This activity may also require some customer interaction dealing with design revisions and installation requirements.
- Evaluate engineering change requests and implement changes as necessary following established procedures and schedules.

Design and build test equipment, support basic instrumentation with hardware, create test procedures, perform electro-mechanical tests as required and maintain reliability data and records of all evaluations performed.
- Review technical manuals and update tech pubs on revised documentation needs.
- Provide customer service groups with engineering support in resolving field problems.
- Support document control in establishing relevant procedures for the manufacture of different sub-assemblies like cable assemblies, PCB assemblies and wiring diagram etc.

POSITION SUMMARY
The Key Account Technologist is the ASM product expert who supports extensive customer and internal company contacts for coordinating the introduction of new products, product improvements, and non-conformances/escalations at the customer.
This includes leading projects/programs supporting these activities. The focus of this job is on managing all the technical account aspects of the customers in the assigned region.
Other tasks involve:
- Drive NPI & evaluations by leading the project including hands-on work at the customer location, implement BU developed BKMs or CIPs at customer and execute necessary actions and modifications.
- Provide answers to our customers by identifying problems, researching answers and guiding customer through corrective steps to resolve high value problems at customer sites.
- Understand customer timelines for film development / roadmaps for current and future technology nodes and transfers the information to product management, business development and R&D.
- Identify technical inflections points and work with R&D to ensure customer requirements and learnings are implemented into product development.
- Be responsible for the performance of our equipment at the customer. Customer specifications which are non-ASM standard are signed by the KAT.
- Recognize early non-conformance of our product and takes the necessary steps for corrective actions, including analyzing data, involving hardware and process exports
- Take responsibility to solve any escalation as efficient as possible problems, for NPI and installed base
KEY REQUIEREMENTS
- Master degree (or above) in chemical engineering, electrical engineering, physics, or material science.
- 7+ years (4+ years for Ph.D.) experience in the semiconductor wafer processing or capital equipment industry.
- Related work experience can include process engineering and technical marketing.
- Direct experience with silicon wafer processing is a benefit or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge, skills, and ability have been achieved.
EXPECTED SKILLS

As part of the global R&D Software team, you will be developing the next generation software for machine control combining the latest design principles, robotics, and UI design. As part of our team in Phoenix, partnering with the local R&D engineering team as well as with the global software team in Korea and Japan.

- Understand and develop product requirements and roadmaps to improve ASM market share by identifying key growth segments; align product priorities and resources to roadmap

- Work with PLM to keep Product BoM structure updated with Backbone BoM and options; manage CIP cut-ins and CES projects with Engineering
- Drive cost-reduction projects with PLM and Engineering
- Work with Finance to keep track of Program NPV/ROI using revenue forecast and Opex
- Manage cross functional team members (supply chain, engineering, finance, management) and deliver status updates to senior management
- Supplier Engagement – Drive Commodity managers to develop key capabilities for new products through collaboration with suppliers
- Support technical activities – Work with product development teams on specifications and data collection requirements, manage customer demo requests, prioritization of product development activities
- Participate in regular forecast, production schedules and material requirements reviews with manufacturing team
- Setup build plan milestones for NPI shipments and evaluate constraints
- Drive critical tasks related to program success to timely closure through prompt follow-ups and escalation paths as necessary
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor or higher degree in Material Science, Electrical/Mechanical/Chemical Engineering or equivalent technical education

We are currently looking for Senior Product Safety Engineer. In this role you will provide product safety engineering analysis and coordinate approval of product design compliance for semiconductor equipment manufacturer in Almere, the Netherlands.
Responsibilities:
- responsible for ownership of product safety compliance for the ASM Thermal Products Business Unit in Almere, Netherlands.
- conduct hazard analysis and the related risk assessments for new products and review upgrades and retrofits to existing products for safety compliance.
- coordinate the 3rd party assessments of the equipment to comply with SEMI safety standards as well as the European Directives, and provide guidance on design practices necessary to comply with these standards.
- act as member of ASM’s Global Product Safety Engineering Counsel, and work together with other ASM Product Safety Engineers (PSE) leaders to maintain global equipment design guidelines (for safety compliance).

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop semiconductor Epi films to meet the requirements of semiconductor devices through sharing of relevant knowledge and contributing creative and imaginative inputs to (1) process development, (2) product design and performance enhancement.

- Solid knowledge and hands-on experience of using Chemical Vapor Deposition Equipment for the development of epitaxial films for the semiconductor device manufacturing. Preference will be given to candidates who have demonstrated knowledge and experience in the growth and characterization of Group IV Epitaxial films such as Si, SiP, SiCP, SiGe, Ge etc. Experience with of III-V films is desirable.
- Knowledge and hands-on experience with plasma based chemistries for the deposition of films for semiconductor applications and surface modification is highly desired. Knowledge of plasma physics and concepts as it relates to deposition processes is a plus
- Ability to characterize / analyze the films for their physical and electrical properties (such as XRD, XRR, SIMS, 4-point probe, Hall measurements, SEM & TEM etc). Leads the definition, specification and validation of highly reliable electronics for ALD process modules. Responsibilities:
- Define, specify and oversee subsystems to meet the overall system specifications, costs and project planning boundaries. - Successful candidate should have extensive experience in creating systems that meet safety expectations as determined by SEMI S2, S8, S22 guidelines, IEC, VDE, CE, NFPA 79, NFPA 70, and UL508A.
- One to two years’ experience in documentation procedures as established in an engineering organization producing capital equipment or an equivalent combination of education and experience for which comparable knowledge, skills, and ability has been achieved.
- Should have a broad based background in analysis, design and debug of complex electrical and electronic systems.

Working as part of the Global Hardware Engineering Platform team, you will drive the planning and executive of product development and product change projects leverrage the expertise of project management as well as working with key stakeholders to execute on the plans in the R&D of our semiconductor equipment.
Responsiblitlies:
- Plan projects to design, build and qualify first prototypes and manufacture major equipment for application in the ALD and EPI process technology. The project plans will include a financial budget, a manpower and resource plan and a schedule with detailed milestones.
- Develop a project team from a matrix organization to support the plan.
