ASM currently has an opportunity for an experienced Commodity Manager with energy, drive, motivation and sense of urgency.  As an individual contributor to the team, you will ensure the ownership of gas delivery Supply Chain Development, Commodity Strategies and become the direct engagement point with current and potential suppliers.  Come share in the excitement of this dynamic Semiconductor industry.  If you have excellent project management, supplier management, negotiation, influence and supply chain experience we would like to hear from you.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and implementation of global sourcing strategies and global supplier network capabilities for the commodity of gas panels and integrated gas systems to achieve key business goals: Time to Market, Cost of Goods Reduction, Lead Time Reduction and Supplier Business Continuity in ramp-up and ramp-down situations.
  • Communicates commodity strategies across the organization, the Business Units and NPI Operations to ensure sourcing decisions and product development aligns with strategic supplier selections.
  • Formulate negotiation strategy to proactively drive cost reduction with suppliers in a complex, high mix/low volume environment to meet strategic, operational and financial performance targets.
  • Total commodity ownership, including supplier relationship management in alignment with the needs of the business, the global supply strategy and specific commodity strategies. Inclusive of actively approaching the supplier market by means of investigating, screening, pre-selection of and negotiation with new or alternative suppliers for a product group/line of business.
  • Responsible for negotiations of complex agreements with suppliers encompassing key program specifications, BU NPI product requirements and functional objectives.
  • Responsible for total supplier performance: measure and manage vs. key targets, compliance to agreements and implementing improvement roadmaps to address gaps. Drive supplier performance improvements in on-time delivery, quality and commitments to ESG.
  • Work effectively with internal stakeholders cross-functionally and cross-regionally, as well as those of external partnerships who are critical to meeting key objectives
  • Maintain and provide current understanding on industry and technology trends for the assigned categories. Schedule and host TRM w/Business Units.
  • Acting as interface between suppliers and business regarding tactical issues, pricing, quality while maintaining continuity of supply by taking ownership of tactical issues, facilitating work through others, and driving the team to closure
  • Routinely reviews supply risk assessments, and drives mitigation plans accordingly, including setting up and working out of secondary and/or alternative supplier routes regarding the purchasing of strategically important and critical products/goods

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with related experience or Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or similar field 
  • 5 + years of work-related experience in Procurement or Commodity management, with demonstrated increase of responsibilities
  • 3+ years of experience in semiconductor manufacturing or similar high technology manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with gas delivery systems preferred.
  • Excels in Communicating, Customer Focus, Initiative and Results Drive
  • Experience in build to print, OEM, RF Power, machining, contract manufacturing and operational background a plus
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints
  • Good command of written and spoken English
