Plasma Simulation Engineer

Location: Hwaseong in Korea or Tama in Japan

Job Type: Full Time

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Plasma Simulation Engineer to join our innovative team. In this role, you will be responsible for performing simulations of plasma behavior and dynamics using advanced numerical methods and software tools. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with cross-disciplinary teams in research, design, and development of next-generation plasma-based systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, optimize, and maintain plasma simulation models and codes to predict plasma behavior under various conditions.
  • Implement and run simulations of plasma physics phenomena (e.g., plasma dynamics, heating, confinement, waves, and instabilities) in complex environments.
  • Conduct detailed analysis of simulation results, interpret data, and provide recommendations for experimental designs and engineering solutions.
  • Collaborate with the experimental and theoretical physics teams to validate simulation results with real-world experimental data.
  • Support the design and optimization of plasma-based systems, such as fusion reactors, plasma processing systems, or plasma propulsion devices.
  • Present simulation results, methodologies, and insights in technical reports, peer-reviewed journals, and presentations to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in plasma physics and simulation techniques.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Master’s or Ph.D. in Plasma Physics, Engineering Physics, Computational Physics, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in plasma simulations, computational physics, or a similar role.
  • Skills:
    • Expertise in plasma simulation software (e.g., COMSOL, HFSS, CFD-ACE or similar tools).
    • Strong understanding of plasma physics principles, including magnetic confinement, plasma waves, and instabilities.
    • Familiarity with numerical methods (e.g., finite difference, finite element methods) used in plasma simulation.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Desirable Qualifications:
    • Experience in semiconductor plasma processing.
    • Knowledge of machine learning techniques applied to plasma simulations.
    • Experience working with experimental plasma setups and validating simulations.
