Job's mission

The Senior EH&S Engineer will develop, implement, and manage comprehensive environmental, health, and safety programs to ensure compliance with local regulations and industry standards. This role involves conducting risk assessments, leading safety audits, fostering a culture of safety, and driving accountability within the organization. The incumbent will also partner with the global EHS team to align local programs with corporate initiatives and management.

What you will be working on

EHS Program Development and Implementation:

    • Develop, implement, and maintain EHS policies and procedures in line with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards.
    • Set clear EHS expectations, drive accountability, and ensure compliance with all relevant EHS regulations and standards.
    • Partner with the global EHS team to align local programs with corporate EHS initiatives and management systems.

Regulatory Compliance and Stakeholder Engagement:

    • Interpret and implement compliance with legal requirements, Singapore Standards, Codes of Practice, and other relevant regulations.
    • Liaise with local authorities on EHS matters, including license renewals, and represent the company in relevant meetings.

Risk Assessment and Hazard Control:

    • Conduct regular risk assessments and hazard analyses to identify potential safety and environmental risks.
    • Implement risk mitigation strategies and control measures to minimize hazards.
    • Lead Management of Change (MOC) processes to assess and control EHS risks associated with changes in processes, equipment, or operations.

Incident Investigation and Root Cause Analysis:

    • Investigate accidents, dangerous occurrences, and occupational diseases.
    • Determine root causes and implement corrective and preventive actions to prevent recurrence.

Training and Development:

    • Develop and deliver engaging EHS training programs to employees and contractors, ensuring awareness and compliance.
    • Maintain records of training sessions and monitor the effectiveness of training programs.

Audit and Inspection:

    • Conduct regular EHS audits and inspections to ensure conformance to company and customer safety requirements, policies, and procedures.
    • Manage non-conformance investigations and ensure timely closure of identified gaps.

Emergency Response and Business Continuity Planning:

    • Develop, maintain, and periodically test emergency response plans, including organizing and conducting CERT audits and emergency drills.
    • Participate as a key member of the Business Continuity Plan (BCP) team, ensuring the plan is up-to-date and supporting the coordination of annual BCP tabletop exercises.

 Contractor Management:

    • Oversee contractor activities during in-house and shutdown maintenance tasks, ensuring compliance with EHS standards.
    • Establish mechanisms to implement and monitor compliance requirements, such as job analysis, risk assessment, job instruction training, and safe work procedures.

Innovation and Continuous Improvement:

    • Stay abreast of new safety technologies and innovative practices to enhance the EHS program.
    • Lead continual improvement projects for EHS and collaborate on annual safety campaigns.

Environmental Management:

    • Implement and manage environmental practices, including waste management, pollution control, and sustainability initiatives.
    • Conduct environmental impact assessments and ensure compliance with environmental regulations.

Project Management and Prioritization:

    • Ability to prioritize and execute work among competing priorities effectively.
    • Manage and support other EHS-related projects as assigned.

What we are looking for

  • Minimum a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health and Safety, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in EHS management within a manufacturing environment or semiconductor industry.
  • Registered Workplace Safety and Health Officer (WSHO) with the Ministry of Manpower.
  • Certified Fire Safety Manager (FSM).
  • Experience with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards.
  • Knowledge in Responsible Business Alliance (RBA) standards and Business Continuity Planning (BCP)
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • Open and innovative mindset towards new safety technologies.
  • Familiarity in environmental practices
