Job Description

Our process technicians are at the heart of all we do. They are essential for keeping ASM lab operations and process development running safely, smoothly, and on schedule to meet our customer requests that enable the next generation of semiconductor devices. Process technicians work primarily in the clean room and metrology lab space. They move around frequently, transitioning often between sitting, standing, and walking. Their primary role is to support the process development team by

  • Transferring FOUPs (containers with wafers) between different semiconductor processing equipment (epitaxy and wet clean tools) and metrology tools (ellipsometers, surface scanners, XRF, SEM, AFM, XRD/XRR, etc.) and assigning jobs to run.
  • Transferring data when needed to the process development team.
  • Scrapping old wafers from FOUPs and reloading fresh wafers for processing.
  • Coordinating logistics of wafer and sample shipments between ASM and customer facilities
  • Managing priorities for task requests to meet business deadlines while maintaining quality of work
  • Determining new approaches to manage their work to improve efficiency, safety, and quality
  • Writing procedures as needed to document correct business processes

Skills

  • Strong safety-first mindset
  • Excellent organizational skills and housekeeping focus
  • Attention to detail to ensure material is handled and processed correctly
  • Demonstrated track record of process/equipment/wafer testing in support of a fast-paced engineering environment
  • Hands-on experience with spreadsheets, data analysis, and documentation
  • Basic problem solving skills
  • Strong cleanroom protocol habits and execution
  • Effective and professional communication skills (both written and verbal).
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Ability to work alone and/or with limited supervision
  • Ability to multi-task, double-check accuracy, and complete assignments error-free

Qualifications

  • Associates degree in an engineering discipline
  • Minimum 2 years work experience with capital equipment in semiconductor industry in a clean room environment
  • Knowledge of electrical probe stations, cleanroom processing tools would be a strong plus
  • Experience with SmartSheet would be a plus

Note: This position is for 2nd Shift (~3pm-midnight). ASM pays a 10% shift differential for 2nd Shift.
