Job's mission
As a Principal Engineer – IQ Operations Focus at ASM, you will provide senior technical and operational leadership for installation qualification activities supporting the Intel Arizona Field Service organization. This role drives disciplined execution of IQ schedules, resource plans, operational reporting, data governance, and cross-functional business processes. You will work across Field Service management, module leadership, installation teams, Global Operations, Quality, Safety, business support, and customer stakeholders.
What you will be working on
- Coordinate IQ operational activities across supported Tier-1 customer modules, maintaining visibility to schedules, milestones, dependencies, resource requirements, and customer commitments.
- Develop project plans, readiness checkpoints, labor scenarios, risk registers, action ownership, due dates, and recovery plans for priority tools and qualification activities.
- Support IQCD reviews and provide clear updates on tool status, parts constraints, qualification progress, resource gaps, and open actions.
- Collect, consolidate, validate, and report customer and ASM operational data supporting IQ performance, chamber status, IQ cost, safety, resource planning, and related KPIs.
- Maintain and improve Power BI dashboards and recurring reports, ensuring timely refresh, data accuracy, traceability, and decision-ready presentation.
- Maintain IQ status and resource information in approved Power Apps, SharePoint, Excel, and related reporting environments.
- Support weekly IQ labor planning and Names-in-Frames alignment with Field Service Managers, module owners, and Global Operations; identify and escalate resource or readiness constraints.
- Support service-order and activity processes using SAP, SAP S/4HANA, WFM, and Field Service Management, including order creation, assignments, labor review, and status maintenance.
- Maintain ISR and support accurate warranty, installation, qualification, and service-business records.
- Facilitate recurring project and operational reviews with concise updates on progress, risks, resource use, decisions required, and recovery plans.
- Align ASM and customer stakeholders on IQ priorities, project status, milestones, and commitments; drive action closure and timely escalation.
- Analyze operational data to identify recurring issues, execution risks, and opportunities for standardization, automation, and continuous improvement.
- Document standard work, data sources, system access, process ownership, reporting frequency, and backup coverage to strengthen operational continuity.
What we are looking for
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering, materials science, operations, information systems, business, project management, or a related technical field preferred; equivalent technical education and directly relevant semiconductor experience may be considered.
- 8+ years of experience in semiconductor field service, capital equipment, manufacturing, technical operations, project management, or a related environment.
- Demonstrated experience coordinating complex installation, qualification, or operational projects in a customer-facing, high-accountability environment.
- Advanced Power BI and Excel capability, including dashboard development, data validation, visualization, KPI reporting, reconciliation, pivot tables, and lookup functions.
- Experience with Power Apps and SharePoint for workflow, status management, process documentation, and data governance.
- Working knowledge of SAP or a major ERP/MRP platform.
- Proven ability to influence across a matrixed organization, coordinate multiple workstreams, and drive execution without direct authority.
- Clear leadership-level communication, strong attention to detail, data integrity, structured problem solving, and independent judgment.
What sets you apart
- Experience with SAP S/4HANA, Field Service Management, or WFM.
- Experience supporting IQ project leadership and resource planning in a high-volume semiconductor manufacturing environment.
- Strong capabilities in data-driven decision making, process standardization, and continuous improvement.
- Experience working across functions to align priorities, milestones, resources, and customer commitments.
- Strong customer focus, risk management, operational excellence, and executive communication skills.
