Job’s mission

As a Senior Engineer, Total Product Support at ASM, you will take ownership of highly visible technical projects and drive them from planning through execution and delivery. Acting as the central point connecting engineering teams, operations, and customers, you will ensure that technical solutions are developed, tested, implemented, and supported successfully.

This role is ideal for someone with a strong engineering foundation who enjoys bringing people together, solving problems, and turning technical requirements into clear actions. You do not need to be the subject matter expert in every technical area, but you should be comfortable working with engineers, understanding complex technical concepts, asking the right questions, and keeping projects moving forward.

What you will be working on

  • Lead and coordinate technical projects from initial planning through execution, customer delivery, and program close-out.
  • Develop execution plans, define priorities, coordinate resources, and ensure key project milestones and deliverables are achieved.
  • Act as the central point of coordination between engineering teams, technical specialists, operations, management, and customers.
  • Drive the build and qualification phase of technical solutions, including coordinating in-house testing, additional test equipment, technical evaluations, and readiness for customer implementation.
  • Work closely with engineers to understand technical challenges, determine where additional expertise or consultation is required, and drive issues toward resolution.
  • Coordinate directly with customers to understand requirements, provide transparent project updates, and support successful technical implementation.
  • Monitor project progress, identify risks and roadblocks early, and communicate openly when plans, deliverables, or timelines are at risk.
  • Analyze project and test outcomes, coordinate follow-up activities, and ensure programs are properly completed and transitioned into customer support.
  • Steer operational activities across multiple stakeholders while maintaining accountability for overall project execution.
  • Provide clear and concise reporting on high-visibility projects to stakeholders and management.

What we are looking for

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Materials Science, or another relevant technical discipline.
  • A solid engineering foundation and the ability to understand and communicate technical concepts across different engineering disciplines.
  • Strong project coordination skills with the ability to plan, organize, and drive activities from start to finish.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills, including the confidence to work with engineers, managers, and customers.
  • Strong sense of ownership and accountability, with a proactive and hands-on approach to solving problems.
  • Ability to identify risks, communicate challenges transparently, and escalate issues when necessary rather than waiting for problems to resolve themselves.
  • Ability to quickly learn new technologies, processes, and technical environments.
  • High energy, adaptability, and a strong “can-do” mentality.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

What sets you apart

  • Experience working in semiconductor equipment, high-tech manufacturing, mechanical/electrical systems, or another complex engineering environment (not required).
  • Experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams and translating between technical specialists, operations, management, and customers.
  • Relevant professional, internship, research, or project experience demonstrating the ability to coordinate technical work and drive execution is an advantage.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the confidence to challenge assumptions, raise concerns, and create alignment across different stakeholders.
  • A structured approach to project execution combined with the flexibility to adapt when technical priorities change.
  • Comfortable taking accountability for highly visible projects where clear and timely communication is essential.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally, typically 1–2 times per year, depending on project and customer needs.
