Job’s mission

As a Lead Engineering Technician at ASM, you’ll take on a senior technical role supporting the reliability, safety, and performance of our advanced semiconductor equipment. You’ll combine expert‑level diagnostics with hands‑on technical leadership, guiding technicians, partnering with engineering and EHS teams, and helping customers achieve stable, high‑yield manufacturing. Your work will directly influence product improvements, customer success, and the next generation of ASM technology.

What you will be working on

  • Achieve and maintain Level 3 certification through ASM’s Global Training Center
  • Own two ASM toolsets across all configurations, serving as the senior technical expert
  • Lead highly complex, cross‑platform troubleshooting by applying deep knowledge of integrated systems, tool architecture, and process interactions
  • Drive systematic failure‑mode analysis to uncover limitations, sensitivities, and reliability risks
  • Provide field‑driven insights that shape product roadmaps, CKM enablement, and design improvements
  • Partner with Account Teams, engineering, R&D, EHS, and customer stakeholders to address technical, safety, and operational needs
  • Serve as a peer mentor for junior technicians, supporting skill development and knowledge transfer
  • Lead development and enforcement of cleanroom safety strategies across toolsets and facilities, in partnership with EHS and Field Service Engineers
  • Evaluate systemic safety risks and influence safe‑by‑design improvements in future tool generations
  • Apply process‑flow knowledge to advise engineering and customer teams on process‑equipment interactions
  • Lead system‑level diagnostics across electrical, mechanical, software, and process subsystems using advanced tools and data analytics
  • Conduct root‑cause analysis, implement long‑term corrective actions, and optimize service processes
  • Act as the primary technical contact on shift, scheduling service windows, communicating status, and escalating issues with clear, data‑driven updates
  • Analyze equipment and performance data to identify trends, anticipate failures, and drive proactive maintenance strategies

What we are looking for

  • Technical school degree (2‑year program) OR Bachelor’s degree with 3+ years of experience, OR 10+ years of semiconductor or capital‑equipment technician experience
  • Ability to achieve ASM Level 3 certification
  • Experience troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, software, and process subsystems
  • Strong understanding of cleanroom protocols and equipment‑process interactions
  • Skilled in using diagnostic tools and interpreting technical data
  • Ability to manage escalations and communicate technical updates clearly
  • Experience collaborating with EHS, engineering, R&D, and customer teams
  • Experience mentoring or coaching technicians

What sets you apart

  • Experience supporting multiple ASM toolsets or similar capital‑equipment platforms
  • Background in failure‑mode analysis, reliability evaluation, or risk assessment
  • Hands‑on experience influencing product improvements or design changes
  • Experience applying statistical methods, data analytics, or predictive‑maintenance strategies
  • Leadership experience in cleanroom safety or incident response
  • Collaboration experience with cross‑functional engineering and customer technical teams
