As an Senior Engineer I, Process Engineering (R&D) at ASM, you will play a key role in developing advanced semiconductor deposition processes that enable next-generation devices.
You will work hands-on with process and analytical equipment, contributing to innovation in both ALD and PEALD processes. This role offers the opportunity to turn scientific ideas into impactful technologies through process development and intellectual property creation.
In this particular role, you are owner and main user of the precursor screening tool with the following responsibilities
- Gathering and prioritization of screening requests, EHS handling and IP control
- Deciding on schedules, planning and utilization of the tool
- Responsible of maintenance activities and planning
- Training users from programs on the tool and required characterization methods
- Participates in running the tool and material characterization hands-on as needed
- Taking care of tool usage development and solving tool specific issues
- Results gathering, reporting in coordination with programs
In this role you work closely with Chemical Development, Intellectual Property and Corporate R&D program and Equipment Engineering teams
You will be working on
- Researching, developing, and optimizing thin film deposition processes based on strong chemistry and materials science fundamentals, with a focus on different metal and dielectric ALD and PEALD film materials
- Designing and executing experiments together with engineers form R&D programs
- Actively troubleshooting process and equipment issues through hands-on engagement
- Authoring technical reports and contributing to intellectual property (IP) generation
What we are looking for
- PhD in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related field
- Hands-on experience with ALD and PEALD and other for example CVD film deposition technologies
