Key Responsibilities

  • Manage Korean tax compliance, including Corporate Income Tax, VAT, Withholding Tax, and local taxes.
  • Prepare and review tax returns, tax calculations prepared internally or by external advisors
  • Ensure timely and accurate tax reporting and tax accounting in accordance with Korean tax regulations and applicable accounting standards.
  • Oversee tax reporting and provisions for statutory and financial reporting purposes.
  • Provide tax advisory support on business transactions, contracts, and restructuring projects.
  • Review intercompany transactions and ensure alignment with Korean transfer pricing regulations.
  • Coordinate with global tax teams on transfer pricing policies and controversies, BAPA
  • Lead tax audits and manage relationships with the National Tax Service (NTS), external auditors, and tax advisors.
  • Prepare responses to tax authority requests and coordinate supporting documentation.
  • Monitor tax law changes and assess related business impacts.
  • Identify tax risks and opportunities and drive process improvements.
  • Support tax technology initiatives and automation projects.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Tax, or related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in Korean taxation, preferably within a multinational company and/or Big 4 environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Korean corporate tax, VAT, withholding tax, and transfer pricing.
  • Experience managing tax audits and tax authority interactions.
  • CPA, CTA, or similar professional qualification preferred.
  • Fluent in Korean and English.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
