Job's mission

We are looking for a seasoned Global Commodity Manager to lead strategic sourcing initiatives and ensure supply continuity for critical materials in a dynamic, high-tech environment. This role involves managing global supplier relationships, driving cost and lead-time improvements, mitigating supply risks, and executing commodity strategies aligned with business objectives. The ideal candidate brings strong negotiation skills, deep experience in semiconductor or related industries, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, matrix organization.

What you will be working on

  • Key member of global program task force, Commodity focal representing Commercial Sourcing organization across multi-department high visibility team reporting regularly to Executives.
  • Actively expand supplier base to meet sourcing requirements through collaboration and benchmarking. Provide recommendation to the Commodity Director for strategic alignment.
  • Total PLC and operational ownership, including supplier engagement management in alignment with the needs of the business, the global supply strategy and specific commodity strategies. Inclusive of actively approaching the supplier by means of investigating, coordinating, quoting to meet operational requirements.
  • Participate and lead supplier performance reviews: focusing on change control compliance, supplier responsiveness to quote.
  • Work effectively with internal stakeholders cross-functionally and cross-regionally, as well as those of external partnerships who are critical to meeting key objectives.
  • Maintain and provide current understanding on industry and technology trends for the assigned categories.
  • Report and escalate supply continuity risk associated with PLC and operational requirements.
  • Manage and improve lead time and OTD performance with critical HVM materials.
  • Commercial agreement negotiation to support business needs eg. master agreement, supplier engagement agreement, material liability agreement etc.
  • Cost negotiation for second sourcing and optimal geographical sourcing to be close to customer.
  • Ensuring supply continuity for a dynamic business requiring supply chain flexibility and agility.
  • Routinely performs supply risk assessments, and drives mitigation plans accordingly, including setting up and working out of secondary and/or alternative supplier routes in regard to purchasing of strategically important and critical products/goods.

What we are looking for

  • Possesses excellent communication abilities, a customer-first mindset and a proven track record of delivering measurable results.
  • Experience in managing suppliers in Asia specific to machining, consumable and critical components in semiconductor and/or related industries.
  • Experience with costing models and demonstrate examples of implementation
  • Multi-skilled technical and business Commodity experience with proven multi-category management.
  • Effective negotiation experience with demonstrated ability to execute and implement global commodity sourcing strategies.
  • Adept at influencing decisions, conflict resolution and developing solutions to complex situations.
  • Ability to work with ambiguity and critical thinking in a dynamic environment.
  • Proficiency with SAP, Microsoft Office and PLC management tools
  • Organized, attention to detail oriented and data driven with a team-oriented attitude.
  • Comfortable with generating PowerPoint presentations, crafting a message and clearly delivering the message to multiple levels across the organization.
  • Responsible for supplier selection to meet total sourcing expectations - quality, delivery, and cost requirements.
  • Strong understanding of trade restriction and ability to make risk assessments for critical suppliers.

Pre-requisites

  • Minimum a Bachelors or Master’s in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Engineering or related fields
  • Experience in a global and matrix reporting environment
  • Minimum 8 years of related experience in procurement, commodity management or supplier engineering, with demonstrated increase of responsibilities
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a semiconductor or similar high technology manufacturing environment
  • Holds either a APICS certification, Lean Six Sigma training, negotiation certification or Supply chain related programs
