As a member of the demonstration lab team at our Phoenix R&D location, you will be responsible for ensuring our semiconductor equipment is well-maintained and in optimal working condition. Given the equipment’s role in our R&D work, you should be an excellent troubleshooter and innovative in your approach, all while maintaining a safety-first mindset. The chosen individual will need flexibility to work either, Mon-Fri 7/8am- 4/5pm and/or swing shift 3pm- 12am (one Sat every 4-6 weeks).
Responsibilities:
- Complete all major preventive maintenance (PM) activities on equipment.
- Troubleshoot leak checking, mechanical, and electrical issues to restore functionality.
- Diagnose and resolve temperature-related problems in equipment systems.
- Perform basic cleaning and maintenance of parts to ensure optimal performance.
- Apply a solid understanding of operational standards and train newcomers on routine tasks.
- Identify potential risks and propose minor improvements to enhance reliability.
- Conduct root-cause analysis (using 5 Whys) for non-standard issues and implement corrective actions.
- Create clear and concise problem statements for effective issue resolution.
- Differentiate key options during troubleshooting and predict common wear parts.
- Document part-replacement history and maintain accurate maintenance records.
Requirements:
- Associate degree or technical diploma (2 year program) in Engineering, Electronics, or a related field OR 3+ years of experience in equipment maintenance or engineering support, preferably in a high-tech or semiconductor environment.
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to perform root-cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
- Familiarity with preventive maintenance practices and documentation standard.
- Basic computer skills for logging and tracking maintenance activities.
- Effective communication skills and ability to train team members on routine tasks.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
