ASM is hiring a Field Service Engineer (FSE) to join our Global Sales, Services & Spares IQ and Sustaining teams. In this role, you’ll support semiconductor customers by installing, maintaining, and repairing advanced ASM equipment—while building strong, trusted partnerships with our clients.
What You’ll Do
- Install, maintain, and repair complex electronic and electro-mechanical semiconductor equipment at customer sites.
- Provide exceptional customer support with fast, high-quality responses, always prioritizing safety.
- Work independently to resolve highly complex technical issues, meeting project goals and timelines.
- Drive issue resolution using model-based problem-solving, coordinating with product support and engineering teams.
- Troubleshoot advanced hardware and process issues and document clear procedures for standard service activities.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives by identifying enhancements to processes, hardware, and software.
- Mentor and coach junior FSEs to support their skill development.
- Manage customer escalations and oversee beta-site projects.
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Technology, or related field; OR equivalent work experience.
- 3+ years of field service, customer support, or semiconductor equipment manufacturing experience (ALD, PECVD, EPI, or Diffusion preferred).
- Ability to travel up to 75% (domestic & international)
- Strong troubleshooting skills with complex microprocessor-controlled electro-mechanical systems.
- Hands-on experience with:
- Wafer fab processes, closed-loop gas/vacuum control, plasma systems, robotics, and electro-pneumatic controls
- Oscilloscopes, digital voltmeters (DVMs), and hand tools
- Structured problem-solving techniques
- Clear and concise communication skills (written and verbal in English).
- Strong teamwork, organizational, and multitasking abilities.
