Job's mission
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Field Software Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for deploying, troubleshooting, and optimizing software solutions for ASM tools in the field. You will interact with customers globally to resolve software-related issues and provide technical support to ensure smooth operations. This is an exciting opportunity to be at the intersection of software development and customer-facing technical support.
What you will be working on
- Manage ASM tool software and project lifecycle, including tool software setup, troubleshooting, software specification definition, tool simulation, and regular issue/request tracking.
- Investigate and address customer software concerns/issues by providing in-depth analysis, solutions, or alternatives based on thorough investigations.
- Understand and apply SECS/GEM standards to engage ASM tool and customer-specific host implementations.
- Prioritize, manage, and deliver individual projects while meeting deadlines and expectations.
- Collaborate and communicate effectively with global team members from various regions (US, Japan, EU, etc.) to ensure seamless project execution.
- Take responsibility for assigned ASM products, ensuring their successful delivery and performance.
What we are looking for
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Management, or a similar technical field.
- At least 1 year of experience in relevant roles, involving software troubleshooting
- Proficiency in programming languages such as C, C++, C#, and Delphi.
- Strong customer service skills and a solution-oriented mindset.
- Conversational proficiency in English (both written and spoken).
- Willingness to travel up to 50% globally as per business needs.
- This position is based in Hsinchu, but there may be a possibility of relocation depending on business needs
What sets you apart
- Experience working with SECS/GEM protocols or other industrial automation standards.
- Familiarity with ASM tools or similar semiconductor equipment.
