Position summary

We are seeking a Jr. IP Paralegal to join our Global IP team in Phoenix. This entry-level position is ideal for a motivated individual who is eager to learn and grow in the field of intellectual property. You will work closely with colleagues across the U.S., Europe, and Asia to support the daily operations of ASM’s patent portfolio.

 

This role offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in patent prosecution and IP operations, with mentorship from experienced team members. We are looking for someone organized, detail-oriented, and ready to take initiative in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

 

Responsibilities

You will assist with patent filing and prosecution tasks, including supporting the docketing of pending U.S. and foreign patent applications across ASM’s global IP regions. Under the guidance of more experienced team members, you’ll help maintain accurate records, prepare documentation, and support the generation of reports and basic metrics.

 

Education

  • Associate’s Degree or Paralegal Certificate (Bachelor’s Degree preferred)

 

Experience and skills

  • 1-3 years of experience in the required field
  • Understanding of patent filing and prosecution procedures, formalities, and documentation requirements
  • Strong organization skills and keen attention to detail
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently, manage time effectively and meet deadlines
  • Our organizational structure requires a flexible working day but is rewarded with a high degree of autonomy
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint. 
  • Language Skills: English
