Position summary
ASM is looking for a Global IP Paralegal to join our team in Hwaseong, South Korea. We are looking for a self-starter who enjoys working with diverse people across three continents within the IP department. The Global IP Paralegal reports to the Senior Manager, Global Legal and IP Operations based in the US. The role interacts with IP Managers in Finland, Belgium and the United States, while contributing to the operational excellence of the IP team by ensuring compliance with all necessary patent prosecution formalities and deadlines.
Responsibilities
Manage and execute patent and trademark prosecution filings across U.S. and international jurisdictions.
Ensure compliance with all formalities and documentation requirements related to IP filings.
Maintain and update IP docketing systems for pending applications globally.
Generate and analyze reports, dockets, and relevant IP metrics to support strategic decision-making.
Collaborate closely with IP Managers and legal professionals across multiple time zones.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the IP operations team.
Understand patent and trademark filing and prosecution procedures, formalities, and documentation requirements for patent and trademark prosecution filing, as well as docketing of pending U.S. and foreign patent and trademark applications from all ASM IP jurisdictions.
Generate applicable reports, dockets, and accompanying metrics.
Education
Bachelor’s Degree in associated or complimentary academic field
Experience and skills
5-10 years of experience in the required field
Strong understanding of patent and trademark filing and prosecution procedures, formalities, and documentation requirements
Strong organizational skills as well as excellent written and oral communication skills
Solid attention to detail and ready to work under continuous deadlines while managing multiple tasks simultaneously
Ability to work independently

Thorough knowledge of Word, Outlook, Excel, OneNote and PowerPoint.
Language Skills: English required
