Job's mission
This role is central to driving lean transformation and operational excellence at ASM’s Singapore manufacturing site. As Industrial Engineering Manager, you’ll lead initiatives that improve productivity, reduce costs, and embed a culture of continuous improvement. Your work will directly support ASM’s mission to deliver cutting-edge semiconductor solutions through efficient and scalable operations.
What you will be working on
- Collaborate with Manufacturing Managers and team members to drive a strategy of continuous improvement, challenging the status quo.
- Provide Lean development and training through Kaizen participation and visual controls.
- Optimize value streams by eliminating waste and improving flow across manufacturing.
- Design and own the Kaizen roadmap in partnership with Manufacturing Managers.
- Facilitate office and factory walkthroughs to identify improvement opportunities and escalate actions.
- Lead continuous improvement programs focused on labor hour reduction and cycle time improvements.
- Actively participate in Kaizen events as both team member and leader.
- Implement sustainable, results-oriented improvements—not just coach them.
- Collaborate with supervisors and cell leads to improve single-piece flow.
- Ensure Standard Work and transactional processes are created and followed.
- Use performance and KPI boards to track team progress and escalate support needs.
- Apply strong analytical skills and scientific problem-solving methods.
- Demonstrate deep understanding of assembly and production methods.
- Apply knowledge of Kanban and material replenishment systems.
- Manage Tool Room operations for Manufacturing.
- Collaborate across global teams and functions.
What we are looking for
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, or related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in Manufacturing, Process, Industrial Engineering, or Production Management.
- Proven track record in project management and implementation.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and motivational abilities.
- Practitioner of Lean Manufacturing concepts.
What sets you apart
- Master Black Belt certification (ASQ or equivalent).
- Experience leading cross-functional and cross-regional teams.
- Familiarity with Kanban and other material replenishment systems.
- Strong understanding of assembly and production methods.
