Role overview
Join us at ASM’s Corporate Research and Development where your contributions have real impact, and your scope of work is broad and meaningful. You will be working in the technical support team in our R&D unit located in Helsinki, Finland. As a Specialist in lab operations, you will be responsible for efficient daily functioning of our R&D labs. Your work will be critical to ensure seamless execution of R&D projects. We are looking for someone who is self-driven, organized, and thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing chemical storage
- Managing lab supply inventory
- Managing hazardous waste disposal
- Contribute to the development and improvement of laboratory protocols and documentation
- Maintain laboratory housekeeping (5S) environment and protocols
- Provide administrative and operational support for R&D functions
- Supporting basic logistics needs
Skills
Ideally, we are looking for someone who has the following knowledge and experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in the field of chemistry or chemical engineering with 0 - 5 years of relevant experience or lower education with several years of relevant experience
- Experience working with chemicals is necessary (tasks include handling chemicals in glove box)
- Strong safety first and housekeeping focus
- Basic problem-solving skills
- Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and documentation
- Fluent written and verbal communication skills in English is required
