Role Summary
As Lead II, People Services at ASM, you play a pivotal role in delivering high-impact HR support across the employee lifecycle within a dynamic, global, and innovation-driven organization in the Europe region. Operating at the intersection of strategy and execution, you contribute to shaping a world-class employee experience while ensuring operational excellence in HR service delivery.
You are a trusted partner to employees and managers, providing expert guidance on HR policies, procedures, and programs. You collaborate closely with regional and global HR teams to ensure consistency, compliance, and continuous improvement in people operations. Your work supports ASM’s mission to enable innovation in the semiconductor industry through a high-performing, engaged, and inclusive workforce.
In addition, you will actively contribute to the People Services Transformation Roadmap execution in Europe, supporting process harmonization, system optimization, and service delivery improvements across the region.
This is an individual contributor position reporting directly to Head of People Europe. This role asks for a unique combination of operational excellence and project management skills and competencies. In first instance the role will operationally focus on the Netherlands, but with time will likely evolve to other countries of the Europe region. We expect that the content of the position will evolve over time to meet the business needs and People function development.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Contributions
- Support the implementation of global and regional HR initiatives and programs.
- Contribute to the People Services transformation roadmap, focusing on process standardization, automation, and scalability.
- Analyze HR data and trends to identify opportunities for process optimization and improved employee experience.
- Participate in change management efforts related to organizational transformation and system enhancements.
Operational Excellence
- Deliver high-quality, timely support across core HR processes including onboarding, transfers, mobility, exits, payroll and employee data management.
- Provide first-line support to managers and employees across multiple European countries.
- Collaborate with payroll teams to ensure accurate and timely payroll inputs and checks.
- Maintain HRIS data integrity and support reporting and analytics requests.
- Ensure compliance with local labor laws and global HR standards.
- Support local mobility cases (frequent travelers and expats)
Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
- Work closely with Talent Acquisition, Mobility, Payroll (external), and other HR functions to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Contribute to the development of user-friendly documentation and training materials.
- Support testing and rollout of system updates and enhancements.
- Participate in global HR projects and contribute to the development of best practices across regions.
Qualifications & Profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
- 5+ years of progressive HR Operations experience in a global, matrixed organization.
- Strong knowledge of HR operations, Payroll processing, employment law, and HR systems (e.g., SuccessFactors).
- Experience working across multiple countries and cultures.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Comfortable with occasional travel within Europe and flexible working hours to support global collaboration.
