Job's mission

As Purchasing Manager, you’ll lead the transformation of ASM’s direct materials procurement through SAP S/4HANA-driven excellence. You’ll ensure supply continuity and cost effectiveness across global suppliers, while driving strategic improvements in purchasing processes. This role is pivotal to enabling production schedules, mitigating supply risks, and aligning procurement with ASM’s innovation strategy.

What you will be working on

  • Oversee end-to-end purchasing processes in SAP S/4HANA (MM/PP), ensuring data accuracy and efficiency.
  • Drive on-time material delivery across global suppliers to meet production and customer demand.
  • Lead supply risk mitigation for shortages, long lead-time items, and capacity constraints.
  • Monitor purchasing KPIs (OTD, PPV, lead time, inventory health) using SAP analytics and dashboards.
  • Implement flexibility programs like Safety Stock, VMI, and consignment models.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Planning, Operations, Engineering, and Quality teams.
  • Champion automation and standardization in SAP S/4HANA purchasing processes.
  • Partner with global process owners and IT to enhance SAP functionality and support upgrades.
  • Provide strategic updates and insights in management and project meetings.
  • Mentor and develop the purchasing team in SAP, supplier management, and global collaboration.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate policies, trade regulations, and audit requirements.
  • Resolve supplier invoice and goods receipt issues via SAP workflow coordination.

 

What we are looking for

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in purchasing or supply chain, including 3 years in leadership.
  • Proven expertise in SAP S/4HANA MM and working knowledge of PP and SD modules.
  • Strong experience managing global suppliers and procurement operations.
  • Proficiency in SAP reporting and Excel-based analysis.
  • Demonstrated success in supplier performance, cost reduction, and lead time improvement.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills across time zones and cultures.
  • Strong problem-solving mindset in fast-paced, high-mix environments.
