Role Overview
As a Metrology Engineer, you will be responsible for managing high-performance TEM and FIB equipment in our R&D laboratory in Japan. You will collaborate closely with the R&D team to collect and analyze data, support lab operations, and ensure equipment is maintained in optimal condition for efficient performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain FIB systems for semiconductor device and material analysis; perform routine checks to ensure optimal performance.
- Support TEM-related tasks as needed, including sample preparation and basic operation (advanced TEM work is a plus).
- Create and document Best Known Methods (BKMs) and production-ready recipes
- Maintain lab cleanliness and organization
- Collaborate with process engineers to choose characterization methods, interpret data, and develop solutions to improve analysis and performance.
- Maintain SPC and uptime data; contribute to tool efficiency initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (Master’s or Ph.D. preferred).
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience with FIB tools for semiconductor device or material analysis (TEM experience is a strong plus).
- Fluency in Japanese and business-level English communication skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and ability to work independently
- Understanding of semiconductor processing and device fabrication
