Job Purpose
- The Section Manager Manufacturing is responsible for overseeing and managing the manufacturing operations to ensure timely delivery of high-quality tools. The role involves providing strong leadership in manufacturing and collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify, develop, and drive the implementation of efficiency, cost savings, quality improvement, and safety initiatives.
Job Responsibility
- Establish the scheduling of work orders and team performance metrics, including monitoring output and adjusting schedules to ensure production targets are achieved.
- Accountable for productivity, quality and training metrics of staff, and provide regular progress report and manufacturing metrics to management and cross-function stakeholders, including developing resolutions as needed to improve metrics achievement.
- Lead and implement LEAN improvement projects.
- Partner with Engineering on investigations and/or corrective actions, perform non-conformance investigation for review with engineering.
- Ensure appropriate staffing and accountable to ensure staff is appropriately trained to perform assigned work.
- Lead a Manufacturing team of supervisors to meet tool output requirement, with clear capability to plan ahead and anticipate challenges.
- Facilitate and lead productivity, safety, quality and cost improvement programs.
- Ensure safety, discipline and housekeeping compliance by all personnel.
- Cultivate strong discipline of execution mindset within the team.
- Provide coaching and mentorship to supervisors.
- Conduct performance reviews, including resolving performance issues.
Job Requirements
- Minimum 3 years’ of manufacturing managerial experience in capital tool assembly and testing environment.
- Degree in Engineering or related discipline.
- Strong leadership and team motivation abilities.
- Self-driven, motivated, resourceful with good communication and problem-solving skills.
- Effective team player with the ability to work across departments.
- Knowledge of LEAN Manufacturing principles
- Ability to lead in a collaborative, cross-functional team environment
