Responsibilities
- Apply sound mechanical engineering principles, product specifications, and research data to design systems and products for semiconductor manufacturing equipment.
- Perform engineering calculations and analyses, including structural, thermal, and fluid‑dynamics evaluations.
- Create, modify, and maintain CAD models and detailed engineering drawings using Creo Parametric, ranging from individual components to large assemblies.
- Assess design feasibility, troubleshoot technical challenges, and develop solutions that meet safety, quality, and first‑time‑right design requirements using statistical and analytical methods.
- Prepare clear, accurate, and complete engineering documentation to support prototype builds, manufacturing processes, and testing activities.
- Manage project‑related activities including schedule development, progress reporting, design reviews, and coordination with cross‑functional stakeholders.
- Apply knowledge of common fabrication and manufacturing processes such as CNC machining, sheet metal fabrication, welding, and surface coatings.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to introduce new products and ensure a smooth transition from development to manufacturing.
- Plan and execute failure analysis (FA), providing real‑time updates and driving timely closure of corrective actions.
- Utilize engineering software and productivity tools, including Microsoft Office, Creo, and AutoCAD.
- Apply and interpret ANSI Y14.5 GD&T standards in mechanical designs and drawings.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree is required/Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or higher is strongly preferred.
- Experience in the semiconductor and capital equipment industry.
- Hands‑on experience with thermal and fluid modeling techniques, including FEA and CFD.
- Strong understanding of engineering materials, including metals, plastics, coatings, and surface finishes.
- Working knowledge of semiconductor deposition technologies such as CVD, ALD, EPI, and PVD.
