Job's mission
As a Senior Engineer I, Product Quality at ASM, you will be part of the Global Quality team, working closely with Business Unit Engineers, Product Support, Field Teams, Supplier Quality, and Manufacturing to ensure product quality and reliability across the full product lifecycle. This role contributes directly to customer success by proactively identifying, analyzing, and resolving non‑conformance issues in manufacturing, field, and customer environments.
This position is based in Korea and requires a self‑motivated engineer who independently identifies issues, actively drives actions end‑to‑end, and effectively works with an overseas manager and global teams. Fluency in both Korean and English is essential, as the role involves frequent communication with international stakeholders and customers while driving systemic quality improvements for ASM semiconductor equipment
What you will be working on
- Act as Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for Global Quality for assigned product lines
- Act as SPOC for key customer field teams on quality‑related issues
- Build a clear understanding of quality concerns, determine resolution paths, and actively drive corrective and preventive actions
- Investigate and resolve non‑conformance issues with high customer impact or systemic root causes
- Drive build‑in quality activities within ASM’s Toll Gate process for New Product Introductions
- Work with Business Unit engineers to define Critical Parts, perform Design FMEAs, and track Design‑for‑Quality scorecards
- Analyze non‑conformance data to identify trends, repeat issues, and systemic failure mechanisms
- Work with cross‑functional teams to implement permanent solutions and prevent recurrence
- Communicate quality status, findings, and solutions to customers and various levels of ASM management
- Support continuous improvement and efficiency initiatives within the Global Quality organization
What we are looking for
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, or Physics (Master’s degree is preferred; Ph.D. is a plus)
- Around 10 years of experience after Bachelor’s degree in semiconductor or related manufacturing industries
- Ability to work independently with strong ownership and accountability
- Experience with structured problem‑solving methodologies such as 8D, A3, C4, or FMEA
- Strong analytical skills and ability to drive fact‑based decisions using data
- Ability to collaborate effectively with global teams and an overseas manager
What sets you apart
- Experience in a quality role supporting semiconductor products
- Background in semiconductor process and/or equipment environments
- Experience with deposition, ALD, or related process technologies
- Experience with Quality Management Systems, Quality Assurance, or Process Control
- Project management experience in cross‑functional engineering environments
