The Senior Supplier Quality Engineer determines the most effective methods for manufacturing products or providing services. This role develops strategies to increase productivity, maximize efficiency, and optimize the use of manufacturing space and capital. The mission is to support rapid ASM growth without compromising product quality or customer satisfaction, transforming product quality into a competitive advantage.
This individual holds end-to-end responsibility for quality assurance, analyzing both in-house operations and customer data, identifying and resolving issues that may impact customer satisfaction.
The ideal candidate is self-motivated, naturally curious, and demonstrates a strong ability to define and deliver innovative solutions. They are responsible for comprehensive data analysis and the effective promotion of improvement plans.
Responsibilities:
- Review requirements, specifications, and technical design documents to provide meaningful feedback on potential gaps.
- Create detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured inspection plans. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve tests and inspections.
- Estimate, prioritize, plan, and coordinate customer escalations and feedback. Investigate the causes of non-conformances and implement solutions.
- Identify, record, document, and thoroughly track internal manufacturing indexes.
- Conduct internal QA audits (including ISO standards). Liaise with internal teams (e.g., Engineering, Logistics, Commodity) to identify system gaps and improve manufacturing flow requirements.
- Track key quality assurance metrics, such as non-conformance rates and defect frequency.
- For example, led a cross-functional team to reduce non-conformance rates by 15% over six months.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree
- 10+ years of experience as a QA in relevant roles.
- Demonstrated leadership skills and a proven track record in problem-solving methodology and successful implementation to benefit the organization.
- Minimum of three years' experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
- Experience working with suppliers or contract manufacturers to overcome QA issues is an advantage.
- Ability to influence and lead teams in achieving objectives.
- Familiarity with operational excellence tools, such as Lean manufacturing, FMEA, 8D, PDCA, problem-solving frameworks, Microsoft Project, and Six Sigma.
- Experience building capital equipment, preferably in the semiconductor industry.
- Experience with ISO standards and audits.
- Formal training in Green Belt or Black Belt problem-solving methodology.
- Successfully introduced Lean manufacturing practices that improved inspection accuracy by 10%.
- Displays accountability, analytical thinking, and commitment to driving teams toward business goals.
- Strong written, communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Self-driven with a disciplined approach to ownership of responsibilities and independence.
- Keen attention to detail.
