Lead the Future of ALD at ASM

Global Product Support Engineering Manager – Phoenix, AZ
(ALD Equipment experience required)

At ASM, our technology enables the most advanced semiconductor devices in the world—and our people are the reason why. We’re looking for a Global Product Support Engineering Manager to join our ALD team in Phoenix, where you’ll play a critical leadership role at the intersection of innovation, customer success, and global manufacturing excellence.

If you’re an ALD expert who thrives on solving complex, high‑impact problems and influencing how cutting‑edge tools perform across the globe, this role puts you at the center of it all.

Your Mission

As Manager I, Global Product Support, you will shape how ASM’s ALD tools perform at scale—across fabs, regions, and customers worldwide. You’ll lead global initiatives that drive yield optimization, tool reliability, and systemic improvement, while setting methodologies that influence both ASM standards and the broader semiconductor industry.

This is a high‑visibility, customer‑facing leadership role where your technical judgment, strategic thinking, and people leadership directly strengthen ASM’s reputation as a trusted technology partner.

What You’ll Be Doing

In this role, you’ll operate as both a technical authority and global leader, with ownership over some of ASM’s most critical challenges:

  • Lead and standardize global support methodologies across multiple sites and shifts
  • Own complex incident investigations, driving cross‑functional RCCA efforts that deliver lasting solutions
  • Partner with global teams to support customer and internal audits, ensuring tool capability excellence
  • Diagnose and resolve yield excursions across fabs, designing advanced DOEs and applying ANOVA
  • Mentor and develop engineers, raising the technical bar across global support teams
  • Analyze probe and test data, manage PCNs, and track performance through KPIs
  • Lead global crisis‑response teams and represent ASM in customer QBRs
  • Drive multi‑site yield enhancement initiatives with measurable business impact
  • Translate complex data into clear, strategic insights for senior stakeholders

What We’re Looking For

You’re a seasoned engineer and respected ALD expert who brings both depth of knowledge and leadership maturity:

  • Education & Experience
    • BS in Electromechanical, Chemical, or Systems Engineering with 16+ years of experience
    • OR MS with 12+ years, OR PhD with 8+ years
  • Technical Expertise
    • Recognized ASM expert in at least one of the following:
      • Wafer fabs, closed‑loop gas & vacuum systems, gas schematics, RF plasma
      • Toxic/flammable gases and acids
      • Electromechanical schematics, electro‑pneumatic systems, robotics
      • Microprocessor‑based controllers and foundational software concepts
  • Strong hands‑on proficiency with diagnostic tools (oscilloscopes, DVMs, advanced measurement devices)
  • Prior experience leading small teams and engaging directly with customers

What Sets You Apart

  • Completed bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field
  • Experience working in global semiconductor manufacturing environments
  • Formal leadership training or management certification
  • Proven success leading cross‑functional, multi‑site initiatives
  • Strong analytical mindset with deep expertise in DOE design and ANOVA

Why ASM?

At ASM, you’ll do more than support tools—you’ll define how they succeed worldwide. You’ll work alongside top technical talent, influence global strategy, and help enable the next generation of semiconductor innovation, all while growing your leadership impact on a truly international stage.
