As a Senior (Optical) Systems Engineer at ASM, you’ll be at the heart of developing advanced optical systems and sensor technologies that power the next generation of semiconductor devices. You’ll lead complex design and prototyping efforts, working across disciplines to transform bold ideas into real-world solutions.   • Design, simulate and prototype advanced optical systems and sensor technologies to the semiconductor  
  • Perform system level errors for light budgeting, throughput analysis and optimization. 
  • Develop product concepts on the bench to prove feasibility and mitigate technical risks.  
  • Lead or work within cross functional, multidiscipline technical teams to develop comprehensive product specifications, evaluate performance, and ultimately deliver timely solutions.  
  • Manage multiple priorities/projects simultaneously with attention to details to ensure commitments are met.  
  • Address technical, safety issues quickly for escalations.  
  • Respond timely to customer requests and escalations, anticipating customer needs for solutions and information.  
  • Create system specifications for subsystems modules and manage design tradeoffs.  
  • Design experiments to characterize subsystems, analyze data using statistical analysis of variation and SPC methods.  
  • Create and present technical presentations for technical teams, management and customers following ASM processes.  
  • Help drive technical innovation through filing invention disclosures for evaluation of novel ideas.  

Requirements:

  • MS degree or PhD degree in applied physics, mechanical/electrical engineering or related subject areas required. 
  • 5+ years’ experience in optical system design for semiconductor related work or related industry.  
  • Possess solid understanding of the fundamental principles of physics, mechanical, electrical, heat transfer, and control, and optical basics.  
  • Proven analytical skills including modeling analysis for lens design.  
  • Proficiency in Python programming.
  • Hands on experience with optical alignment, prototyping and experimental test setups.
