We value diversity, inclusion and sustainability as we strive to make a positive impact on the world.  Our development programs help support your growth, shaping your future and pushing the boundaries of innovation to unleash potential.

As part of our Corporate Research & Development team in Helsinki, you’ll contribute to pioneering innovation at the atomic level. You’ll apply your deep expertise in chemistry, material science, and process engineering to develop groundbreaking thin film technologies that power the next generation of logic devices. From concept to implementation, your work will drive progress across global teams and cutting-edge applications.

What you will be working on

  • Develop novel thin film processes for advanced semiconductor logic applications.

  • Design and run experiments, interpret complex datasets, and deliver actionable insights.

  • Operate state-of-the-art semiconductor process equipment and co-optimize hardware and process conditions.

  • Collaborate with internal R&D and external customer teams to align on goals and deliver results.

  • Lead technical knowledge transfers and support deployments through documentation and on-site visits when needed.

What we are looking for

  • PhD in chemistry, physics, materials science, or chemical engineering; alternatively, a master’s degree with significant hands-on experience in a relevant industrial R&D environment.

  • Proven track record working with thin film deposition processes, especially atomic layer deposition (ALD) or chemical vapor deposition (CVD).

  • Strong knowledge of thin film metrology and characterization methods such as XPS, AFM, XRD, XRF, ellipsometry, and electrical testing.

  • Solid grasp of semiconductor device physics, process integration, and materials behavior at the nanoscale.

  • Experience planning and executing structured experiments using design of experiments (DOE) or similar methodologies.

  • Comfortable analyzing large, complex datasets to identify trends, extract insights, and draw conclusions.

  • Effective communicator, capable of clearly articulating findings, influencing decisions, and documenting results for internal and external audiences.

  • Collaborative team player who thrives in multidisciplinary environments and interacts easily across cultures and functions.

What sets you apart

  • Familiarity with how ALD materials are applied in advanced logic devices and integration schemes.

  • Experience working directly with semiconductor processing equipment, including tool setup, recipe development, and hardware troubleshooting.

  • Demonstrated ability to translate customer or stakeholder requirements into tangible technical deliverables.

  • Curious and self-driven mindset — continuously seeking new knowledge, technologies, or ways to improve.

  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity and adapting to shifting priorities in a fast-paced R&D setting.

  • Experience with knowledge transfer, training, or mentoring in a technical context.

  • Willingness to travel internationally to support technology transfers or customer engagements.
