We are looking for a talented individual to join our Corporate Research & Development Team in Leuven, Belgium. In the role of a Senior Process Engineer we want you to learn, grow, and bring in your unique set of skills to help us in developing groundbreaking innovations in the field of atomic layer deposition (ALD). Based on IMEC’s cutting edge campus, you will work alongside your colleagues, putting your expertise in material science, chemistry, and process engineering into action in order to innovate: From idea creation to integrated process flows, enabling us to make a difference to and create value for our internal and external customers. We could be a great match for each other if you have:
- PhD degree in physics, chemistry, engineering or materials science, preferably with a thesis related to the semiconductor (or adjacent industries)
- Alternatively, a MSc degree in relevant field with several years of industrial experience in semiconductor/material research
- Knowledge of Metallization or Metal Deposition is preferred but not mandatory
- Prior experience with thin film deposition techniques (e.g., ALD, PEALD, CVD) and their characterization methods (e.g., XPS, AFM, XRD, SIMS, SEM, TEM, electrical characterization, ellipsometry, XRR, XRF and Sheet Resistance.
- Demonstrated understanding of semiconductor physics or device, processing equipment technology, and/or advanced chemistries, integration process flow.
- A curious mindset, able to synthesize the complex and drive pragmatic solutions forward
- The ability to plan, execute and communicate projects from beginning to end and across stakeholders both locally and globally with colleagues at multiple sites.
