Job Overview:
We are looking for an experienced AP Specialist to oversee daily operations in our Finance Shared Services Center. The ideal candidate will possess at least 5 years of accounts payable and general accounting experience, with a solid grasp of financial processes and controls. This role is crucial for ensuring accurate and timely payments, managing vendor relations, and supporting month-end close activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Invoice Processing: Manage invoices from OCR software, post daily, and collaborate with internal stakeholders to resolve blocked invoices.
- Payments: Ensure timely and accurate payment recording.
- Vendor Relations: Foster strong vendor relationships and address inquiries regarding payment status, discrepancies, and statement reconciliations.
- Process Improvements: Identify opportunities to enhance accounts payable processes, boost efficiency, and strengthen internal controls.
- Month-End Close: Assist with month-end and year-end closing tasks, including accruals, reconciliations, and reporting.
- Auditing: Prepare and review accounts payable documentation for accuracy and compliance with policies and laws.
- Internal Controls: Maintain and enhance internal controls within the accounts payable process.
- Compliance: Ensure adherence to financial regulations, tax laws, and company policies.
- Ad Hoc Duties: Participate in ongoing projects and initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Education: Minimum diploma in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Experience: 5+ years in accounts payable or accounting roles.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (SAP required) and Microsoft Office, especially Excel. Knowledge of Ariba and Concur is a plus.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of professional interaction with internal teams and external vendors.
- Attention to Detail: High accuracy and attention to detail in all tasks.
- Time Management: Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work effectively under pressure.
