Job's mission
As a Senior Field Process Engineer, you will serve as a technical leader driving advanced process optimization and integration for ASM’s semiconductor manufacturing customers. Your expertise will directly influence customer satisfaction, product performance, and internal technology development. This role is pivotal in shaping ASM’s strategic engagement with key accounts and mentoring the next generation of engineering talent.
What you will be working on
- Lead the development and implementation of advanced thin-film deposition process solutions.
- Act as the technical lead for complex customer projects, ensuring timely delivery and high satisfaction.
- Own external field escalations and quality investigations, documenting and publishing lessons learned internally and externally.
- Analyze complex data sets to develop actionable plans and ensure successful outcomes.
- Maintain scorecards for owned applications, identify gaps, and drive closure plans to completion.
- Independently manage process and hardware development, device integration, CIP, and troubleshooting to meet product specifications.
- Understand customer integration strategies across multiple applications and identify new business opportunities for ASM.
- Collaborate with senior engineers and customers to align on technology roadmaps, process flows, and strategic inflection points.
- Proactively resolve technical issues and develop solutions that enhance ASM’s market position.
- Partner with customers to define process and integration requirements.
- Generate and present technical documentation, reports, and presentations to customer leadership and internal business units.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior engineers.
What we are looking for
- Master’s or Ph.D. in Material Science, Chemical Engineering, Physics, or a related technical discipline.
- In-depth work experience in thin-film deposition or related semiconductor processes, preferably within an OEM capital equipment company.
- Proven ability to build trusted partnerships with customers and internal stakeholders.
- Strong customer-focused mindset with a results-driven approach.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both Korean and English, with the ability to present technical and strategic content to diverse audiences.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
- Demonstrated leadership in team environments, with the ability to supervise and inspire others.
- Willingness to work in a cleanroom environment while adhering to safety protocols and wearing appropriate PPE.
