Role Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced TA Manager to lead strategic hiring initiatives across our Japan organization. This role is an individual contributing role, pivotal in building talent pipelines, enhancing our employer brand, and delivering exceptional candidate and stakeholder experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
- Partner with hiring managers to drive the full recruitment lifecycle, from intake to onboarding.
- Source and attract top-tier talent across all levels—including permanent, contract, internship, and especially new college graduates (NCGs).
- Lead and execute EVP and employer branding initiatives, positioning ASM as an employer of choice in Japan’s competitive STEM market.
- Build and maintain talent pipelines to support business growth, succession planning, and critical hires.
- Develop innovative direct sourcing strategies to reduce agency dependency and improve hiring efficiency.
- Establish strong relationships with universities and STEM organizations to attract and nurture early-career talent, including Ph.D. candidates.
- Work closely in collaboration with People team Japan and wider regional Talent Acquisition teams.
- Conduct strategic intake meetings with hiring managers and People Partners to align sourcing strategies with business needs.
- Provide expert guidance on recruitment matters to HR, hiring managers, and the global TA team.
- Embed global processes locally, ensuring compliance with Japanese labor laws and cultural nuances.
- Champion a world-class candidate experience throughout the recruitment journey.
- Facilitate assessments, interviews, and offer processes with precision and care.
- Manage preferred supplier relationships, ensuring alignment with diversity and experience goals.
- Use data and analytics to inform hiring decisions and continuously improve recruitment outcomes.
- Contribute to global TA projects and initiatives, helping shape the future of ASM’s resourcing function.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher.
- Minimum 10 years of hands-on recruitment and talent advisory experience.
- Proven success in NCG hiring, EVP development, and employer branding campaigns.
- Strategic mindset with a proactive approach to talent acquisition.
- Deep understanding of labor market trends and pipeline management.
- Commitment to delivering outstanding candidate and stakeholder experiences.
- Experience hiring STEM and Ph.D. candidates is highly desirable.
- Strong communication skills in both English and Japanese.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across virtual teams and global stakeholders.
