The Global Regulatory Compliance Lead will build and maintain ASM’s global compliance framework across the company’s worldwide footprint. The role operates in a highly international, fast‑moving environment and is well suited for a self‑starter eager to take on a significant challenge and help build a robust global compliance function. The position includes international exposure and regular collaboration with colleagues across multiple regions. The role serves as a primary liaison with internal stakeholders, regulators, and third‑party advisors to identify, assess, and mitigate compliance risks. You will advise senior leaders, develop and deliver compliance training, and support regulatory submissions and technical documentation in close collaboration with product, commercial, and sourcing teams.

Responsibilities

  • Regulatory Strategy & Governance: Develop, implement, and maintain ASM’s global compliance framework, including policies and procedures, across US, EMEA, and APAC offices and customer locations.
  • Liaison with Authorities: Act as a key point of contact between ASM and global regulatory authorities, with a particular focus on Europe.
  • Risk Mitigation & Auditing: Identify, assess, and mitigate regulatory risks. Coordinate with Internal Audit and risk management teams on investigations as needed, and lead corrective actions where compliance gaps are identified.
  • Advisory & Training: Advise senior leadership on compliance matters and design, update, and deliver training programs to embed a strong culture of compliance across the organization.
  • Regulatory Submissions & Technical Files: Partner with product, commercial, and sourcing teams to ensure products, services, and regulatory filings meet applicable global regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Law, Finance, Business, or a related technical field. Legal or graduate degrees preferred.
  • Experience: 10+ years of experience in compliance, legal, or regulatory affairs, ideally within a manufacturing or technology environment. Experience as legal counsel with exposure to commercial compliance is a strong advantage.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Broad understanding of global regulations impacting multinational organizations, including data protection, cybersecurity, privacy, critical infrastructure, packaging, and product compliance (e.g. GDPR, PPWR, NIS2, Korea PIPA).
  • Leadership & Communication: Ability to operate independently, with interest in potentially managing a small, specialized team. Strong communication skills and experience engaging with regulators and senior stakeholders.
  • Vendor Management: Demonstrated experience managing third‑party advisors, vendors, and external support contracts.

Skills we are looking for:

  • Results‑Driven: Delivers high‑quality outcomes through sound judgment, risk‑based decision‑making, and subject‑matter expertise.
  • Planning & Organization: Effectively manages competing priorities, balancing reactive issues with planned project work.
  • Comfort with Ambiguity: Able to operate effectively where structure or guidance may be evolving.
  • Communication: Clear, professional verbal and written communication across all organizational levels.
  • Internal Customer Focus: Builds strong relationships and manages stakeholder expectations effectively.
  • Collaboration: Able to build coalitions internally and with external partners to achieve shared objectives.
  • Multi‑tasking: Capable of supporting multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Learning Agility: Positive mindset, adaptable, and quick to learn.
